Teacher Comedy Night (In the Afternoon!) | Adelaide Fringe

Date: Sunday February 22, 2026

Time: 1:00 pm -

Daniel Delby spent over a decade as a high school teacher before his stand-up career took off—often fuelled by the hilarious stories he collected in the classroom. When he realised so much of his material came from school, Teacher Comedy Night was born.

Each Teacher Comedy Night kicks off with Delby as your MC, warming up the crowd with stand-up, wild tales of classroom chaos, and plenty of audience interaction. Some nights feature a guest comedian, but every show includes hilarious student work, games, news segments, and a fresh new component added each year—ending with stories from the audience for a big, unpredictable finale.

No two shows are ever the same, making it a night you can see again and again. It’s highly interactive, accessible for everyone… but be warned: Karens and Garys may have a breakdown.

Delby’s comedic talent has been widely recognised: he’s performed on the Perth Comedy Festival Gala, won the Best Weekly Comedy FRINGE WORLD Award, and scored multiple 5-star reviews from Fringe Feed, who praised him as “an incredibly clever comedian” with razor-sharp punchlines, seamless call-backs, and elite improv skills—whether he’s delivering jokes, stories, love songs, or freestyle raps. His charismatic stage presence guarantees non-stop laughs.

“Incredibly funny social observation. Went to this show with my wife, herself a teacher, the jokes rang true with this great performance. Don’t for teachers and those with memories of school alike.”

“Two hours of non-stop laughter. So clever with his quick wit and improv. Even the non-school staff in the family loved it. Great comedian.”
